William "Will" A. Schlesinger, 62, of Wadsworth formerly of Danville, IL passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. He was born on April 5, 1949 in Sandwich, IL. On December 27, 1970 in Paw Paw, IL, Will married JoEllen Mercer. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, JoEllen Schlesinger of Wadsworth; two sons, Brandon (Rachel) Schlesinger of Lindenhurst and Trent (Amy) Schlesinger of Grayslake; father, Newton Schlesinger of Mendota, IL; mother-in-law, Joan Mercer of Dixon, IL; two grandchildren, Caleb William Schlesinger and Maddux Lee Schlesinger; two brothers, Steven (Sue) Schlesinger of Lebanon, IN, Sam (Judy) Schlesinger of Earlville, IL; one sister, Kathleen "Kathy" Harrison of White Settlement, TX; two brothers-in-law, Steven (Kim) Mercer of Arlington, VA, Philip (Nancy) Mercer of Dixon, IL; two sisters-in-law, Anabelle Schlesinger of Paw Paw, IL, Nancy (John) Wassouf of Grand Rapids, MI and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Freda Schlesinger; brother, Leslie Schlesinger and father-in-law, Robert Mercer. Will was a member of Gurnee Community Church for the past 21 years and a small group leader. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services are Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 10:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Stephens officiating. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee. Memorial donations may be made to the Gurnee Community Church, Free to Thrive Fund or the Kellogg Cancer Center of Highland Park Hospital.
