William Johnson Jr

William Johnson, Jr., 84, of Lake Bluff went home to be with the Lord March 25, 2013 at Highland Park Hospital. He was born February 23, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio. On July 18, 1987 in North Chicago, William married Lula Thermon.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 25 years, Lula Johnson; six children, Deborah Johnson, Priscilla (Arthur) Johnson, Diana Johnson, G. Anthony (Alisha) Johnson, Maurice Johnson and Kenneth Willie Thermon; one sister, Willetta (Johnnie) Edmonds; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Johnson, Sr., Anna Margaret (Frye) Johnson and his step-father, Eugene Walker.

William was a US Air Force veteran in the 9th Division. He was a welder for airplanes in the Air Force, and he had a connection with the Tuskegee Air Men.

Funeral services are Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11am at Shiloh Baptist Church of Waukegan, 800 S. Genesee Street with one hour of visitation prior to services at the church with Pastor Walstone E. Francis officiating. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
