Wendy B. Shaffer, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025. She is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years Charles R. Shaffer Jr.; her brother Rick (Marie Schmidt) Young; her sister Pam (Tony) Benassi; her siblings-in-law Randy Shaffer, Carolyn Shaffer, and Sandy (Dave) De Lisle; and her niece and nephews Dustin, Aaron, Grayson, Rachel, and Nick. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in passing by her cherished parents, Richard and Joan Young.

Wendy was a proud Navy veteran, serving as a hospital corpsman and then continued her joy of healing by serving as a nurse at the Whitehall nursing center in Deerfield, Illinois. She loved animals, was always kind to everyone she met, enjoyed teaching people how to crochet, knit, and do other crafts. and volunteered at the VA.

Friends and family will meet for visitation on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 10:30AM-12:30PM at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. The funeral service will begin at 12:30PM followed by interment at Warren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Wendy's name to Paralyzed Veterans of America, United Way, Goodwill, or Orphans of the Storm would be greatly appreciated.
