Wanda Erhardt Erhart, Wanda Y. age 88, of Gurnee, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Wanda was born on November 18,1922 in Marshalltown, IA, married George Erhart on March 21, 1943 in Waukegan, and retired from Illinois Bell Telephone as an operator in 1978 after 20+ years of employment. She belonged to Gurnee Community Church, Telephone Pioneers Club, Royal Neighbors, and loved to knit, crochet, sew, cook, and read. Surviving Wanda are her daughters: Jeri Erhart (Graves), Jackie Erhart, and Jolynn (Bill) Griffiths, all of Gurnee; her son, Richard (Bobbie) Erhart of Rotunda West, FL; 10 grandchildren: Richard Erhart, Todd Graves, Brad (Debbie) Graves, Cori (Danny) Blanquel, Joe Griffiths, Janie Griffiths, Jeremy (Michele) Erhart, Ruth (Rob) Thomas, Raquel (Eric) Hink, and Ronnie (Tara) Erhart; 9 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, and devoted friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Erhart, in 1986; son, George "Bud" Erhart, in 1980; two brothers, Earl and Orvan Herman; and one sister, Isola Miller. The family would like to thank the staff at Rolling Hills for all their love and support and the staff at Condell Medical Center for their compassion and care. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at the Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee, from 4:00-7:00pm with services the next day, Friday, March 4, 2011, at Gurnee Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee, at 11:00am with Rev. Joseph Wilcox officiating. Interment is private at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gurnee Community Church in Wanda's memory will be appreciated.
