Walter "Wally" Wenzel, 73, of Antioch passed away February 26, 2012 at home. He was born in Chicago on December 3, 1938. On October 18, 1958 in Algoma, WI, Wally married Rose Mary De Villers.
Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rose Mary Wenzel; son, Wayne Allen (Ruthie Elkins) Wenzel; sister, Marie Barnes and granddaughters, Miranda and Peace. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Theresa Wenzel and brother-in-law, James Barnes.
Wally was a US Coast Guard veteran. He retired from the Lake County Reserve Deputy Unit after many years of service.
Visitation is Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee. Funeral services are Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11:00am at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, on Rte. 173, ½ mile East of Rte. 45, Old Mill Creek, IL. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee
