Wallene Bloomen

Wallene B. Vander Bloomen, 78, of Grayslake, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines. She was born on January 11, 1931 in Highland Park, IL. On March 15, 1952, Wallene married Howard F. Vander Bloomen. She is survived by her three sons, Leonard (Colette), Darrell (Rhonda) and Greg (Carolyn) Vander Bloomen; one daughter, Pamela (Gregg) Wallace; seven grandchildren, Dan, Ashley, Eric, Luke, Adam, Amanda and Alex; one great grandson, Deacon; sisters, Eunice Fredrickson and Carolyn MacInnes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Selma (Amberg) Cronkhite, Sr., husband of more than fifty years, Howard F. Vander Bloomen, brother, Walter Cronkhite, Jr., sister, Virginia Cronkhite. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at 3:00 pm at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 10 S. Lake Street, Mundelein, IL. Interment will take place at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee at a later date.
