Violet Usa, 94, of Lindenhurst, formerly of Waukegan, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Victory Lakes Assisted Living. She was born on August 31, 1914 in Bentleyville, PA to John and Anna Novak. On August 31, 1930 in Waukegan, Violet married John C. Usa. She is survived by her loving children, Duane (Dew) Usa of Havelock, NC, Lynnette "Lynn" (Bill) Hamilton of Lake Villa, IL, Gary (Donna) Usa of Chimacum, WA; four grandchildren, Zachary Usa, Dayna Usa, James Hamilton and Victoria Hamilton; two great grandchildren, Hannah Graham and Hayden Graham. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 50 years, John C. Usa, three brothers, August Novak, John Lukas, Peter Lukas and one sister, Anne Whiteley. Violet worked for many years at Fuqua, Winter & Stiles Law Firm in Waukegan. She then worked and retired in 1994 after 25 years of service with James Anderson in Lake Bluff. Violet was a very giving person, especially to her family. She was often referred to as the "Snack Lady" because every time she went to her families homes, she would bring a tray of snacks. Family & friends may meet on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Warren Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am following the visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Penich officiating from Star Hospice. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Star Hospice of Vista Health, 99 Greenwood Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085.
