Toussaint L. Tate, Jr., 64, of North Chicago, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born April 13, 1951 in Elgin, IL. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Smith; two children, Roderick (Valerie) Tate and Tonya (Jessie) Orsby; four honorary children, Rodney Fitts, Grady Fitts, Curtis Fitts and Kimberly (Erskin) Townsend; two brothers, Walter Tate and George Tate; one sister, Vickie Ann Tate; uncle, George (Blanche) Jones; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a slew of many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Toussaint L., Sr. and Victoria (Jones) Tate and one uncle, Bolden Jones. Toussaint worked and retired after 35 years of service as a Lineman and Crew Leader for ComEd. He was "Mr. Personality Plus" and loved by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 11am at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee with visitation one hour prior to services from 10-11am. The Rev. J.C. Coleman will officiate the services at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
