Tomasa "Mita" Montano Lopez Lugo

Tomasa “Mita” Montano Lopez Lugo, 90, of Waukegan passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 27, 1928 in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico to the late Gregorio Lopez Ramos and Maria Lugo Orama.  On June 19, 1954 she married Marcos L. Montano Sr.  She enjoyed word search, playing bingo, singing and had a wonderful sense of humor, but her greatest love was her family.

Mita is survived by her husband, Marcos, her children; Marcos L. (Bridget Stich) Montano Jr., Ruben (Julio Quintana-Rizzo) Montano, and Darlene Montano, her grandchildren; Marcos L. Montano III, Eduardo “Kiro” Rodriguez Montano, Edgard Rodriguez Montano, her great grandchildren; Ethan E. Rodriguez, Mia Rodriguez, Eliana Rodriguez, and Lorenzo Rodriguez, and her brother, Luis A. Lopez Lugo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters; Ana E. Lopez Lugo and Efigenia Lopez Lugo.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 25, 2019 and again from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Warren Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 1475 N. Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday at the funeral home.  Fr. Timothy O’Malley will officiate.

In lieu of flowers donations can made in Mita’s name to The Edwin Montano Scholarship fund at 150 S. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan, IL 60085.
