Thomas Wade Benson, 70, of Antioch was born December 24, 1940 and died June 5, 2011 at home.
Survived by loving wife, Elaine Benson; children, Ike D. Miller, III, Bernadette (Scott) Nicely, David (Melanie) Benson; mom, Cleo Benson; grandchildren, Hailey, Skyla, Dakota, Gabe, Madeline; sister, Joyce and niece, Debbie. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Benson, birth-mother, Frances Morris, one nephew and one niece.
Thomas started as a supply clerk on a ship in the Navy and was later promoted to Second Class Petty Officer. He enjoyed writing poetry, playing the guitar, fishing, going to the movies and was always willing to try new things.
Visitation is Friday, June 10, 2011 from 4-8pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services are Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 11am with one hour of visitation prior to services. Burial at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
