Theodora Trombino

Trombino, Theodora "Teddy" (nee Wicklander) 102, of Lindenhurst, IL passed away peacefully January 13, 2014 at Victory Lakes Assisted Living where she lived with her two cats, Harley and Charley. All her life, Teddy has served as a source of inspiration to her family and friends and will be deeply missed. She had an amazing positive attitude which contributed to her long happy life. Teddy, who was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on March 7, 1911, and her husband, Robert Trombino, Sr., started Lake County Office Equipment in Waukegan, Illinois in 1945. The business, which is still in operation today, provided well for three generations of the Trombino family. Teddy and Robert retired to Sebring, FL in 1971 and returned to the lake county area in 1989. She enjoyed entertaining, spending time with family and friends, staying very active, and even played golf until the age of 98. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Waukegan, IL and volunteered at Vista Hospital until the age of 96. She is survived by two sons, James (Donna) Trombino and Robert (Donna) Trombino, Jr.; Grandchildren, Laura (Jack) Lafferty, Wesley (Ann) Trombino, Cindy Trombino, Linda (Pat) Busscher, Debra Trombino, Stephanie (Jeff) Meyer, Sandy (Roger) Schwab and Bob Mosier; Great Grandchildren, Patrick Busscher, Matthew Busscher, John Lafferty, Faye Lafferty, Logan Ghormley, Jake Meyer, Courtney Meyer, Savannah Meyer, Carson Moore, Brendan Moore, Rachael Moore, Justin Schwab, Jeremy Schwab, Megan (Brian) Pruitt, Michael Trombino, and one sister, Nancy. She was preceded in death by Robert Trombino, Sr. and her cat, Harley. Visitation Thursday, January 16th from 5-8pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services Friday, January 17th at 10am at the funeral home with Pastor David Eikenberry officiating. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the pet shelter or charity of your choice.
