Tensie Dale White, 64, departed life peacefully on March 4, 2023, at Integrated Palliative and
Hospice. He was born on December 29, 1958, in Houston, MS, the son of Tensie Dale White and
Nancy Shirley (Montgomery) White. Tensie moved with his family to Chicago in 1964. Tensie graduated from Gage Park High School in 1976. Tensie Dale White proudly served in the United States Army from 1977 until he was honorably discharged in 1985. Tensie also faithfully served in the United States Army Reserve with the 478th Personnel Services Company in Chicago, Illinois. He served alongside lifetime friends and comrades Dorian Gosha, Donnie Moore, and William Thomas. Tensie worked at Baxter/Caremark for many years. After working at Baxter/Caremark, Dale worked at PepsiCo. for twenty plus years. When Dale was not working, you could find him spending time with his family. Dale was known for his culinary skills, barbecuing in the summer and in charge of carving the turkey and ham for the winter holidays. Dale was the oldest of five brothers and sisters and the third oldest of fifteen first cousins. In Chicago, he was the big brother to everyone. When he spoke, everyone listened. Dale always gave sound advice and checked on you afterward, too. When Dale said he was going to do something, he did it. Dale enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and golfing. He especially enjoyed his electronics and music.
On July 7, 2007, Dale married the beautiful Damaris White. The union blended six siblings,
three sons and three daughters. Tensie was preceded in death by his parents, Tensie Dale White and Nancy Shirley Montgomery White. He leaves to cherish his memory his lovely wife Damaris White; daughters Melissa White Sanchez, Sophia Doss, and Jacqueline Doss; sons Dale White, Jeffrey Nazario, and Samuel Charles Doss, Sr.; Sisters Diana White Darling, Veronica Ransom Adams (Jerry); Tanisha Moore Jackson (Ercell); Brother Richard Ransom; Sister in law Wanda Nazario, and Janet Nazario Cruz; Brother in law Luis (LaSalle)Nazario; Grandchildren Alyssa, Elijah, Lydia, Za’Niya, and Samuel-Charles Jr.; Nephews Damien Williams, Keon Ransom, and Kejuan Ransom; Niece Hilary Darling; Uncle Loveless Montgomery (Evelyn); Aunts Margaret “Granny” Montgomery, Emma Burton, and Alice Mosely; Sister Cousins Paula Montgomery and Monique “Momo” Puckett; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, March 17th, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N Cemetery Rd. (located on the northside of the intersection of Tri-State Parkway and Cemetery Rd.), Gurnee, IL 60031. The Funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on the same day, also at the funeral home. The interment at Warren Cemetery (the same property as the funeral home) is scheduled to be conducted immediately following the funeral. For more information please call 1-847-855-2760.
