Steven D. Gallion, 74, of Harvard, Illinois, departed, Wednesday, March 30, 2016, in Libertyville, Illinois.
He was born in Decatur, Illinois on January 18, 1942, to Jacque and Helen (Jenkins) Gallion. Steve was a carpenter and foreman at R&D Thiel, retired from the Carpenter's Union after 21 years, was the Vice President and Estimator of Peterson & Gallion, Inc., and later retired from Motorola after 15 years. He was an amateur astronomer; a member of The Chicago Astronomical Society, a member of The Lake County Astronomical Society, and a member of The Planetary Society.
He will be missed by sons Timothy (Annette) Gallion, of Kansas City, KS; Todd (Kathy) Gallion of Pulaski, WI; daughters Jodi Gallion (Brad Lang) of Oregon, WI; and Kimberly Gallion of Wildwood, IL; brother Joseph Beaman; sisters Samantha Ann Robbins and Melinda Tomlinson; grandchildren: Ferdinand, James, Christina, Krista, Lindsey, Timothy, Jennifer, Britney, Morgan, Brandon and Mya; step-grandchildren: Cassandra, Adam, and Douglas; great-grandchildren: Camedon, Westin, Kailyn, Joseph, Isaac, Luke, Lorraine, Skylar, Melody, Payton, Victor, Andrew, Nora, Joshua, Henry, Stephen, Abigail, Tessa, Hayden and Conner.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016 between 12:00 PM -2:00 PM at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd, Gurnee. Interment will be private at Warren Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Steve was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Lorraine Figueroa, parents, and stepfather, Robert Beaman.
The family wishes to thank Drs. Michael Cochran and Joseph Mun, and the staff at Advocate Condell Medical Center for their care and compassion.
