Solly Benjamin

Solly "Sol" Benjamin, age 78, passed away on September 20, 2017 at Advocate Condell Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mollie (Hara) Benjamin, and his wife Donna (Battaglia) Benjamin.

Sol is survived by one son, Scott (Lora) Benjamin of Michigan and one daughter Debbie Benjamin of Illinois; grandchildren, Kim Benjamin of Illinois, Sarah Benjamin of Michigan, Cody and Jessy Metzmaker of Michigan; one brother Fred Benjamin of Wisconsin; one niece Taylor Battaglia of Illinois; and a beloved dog, Cocoa.

During his lifetime, Sol enjoyed many activities. He was an avid sports enthusiast. He played professional roller derby, semi-pro hockey, and worked with the Chicago Blackhawks for 20 years as their team photographer. Sol enjoyed scuba diving and traveling around the world, thus including his enthusiasm for marine life. He had a passion for business and started multiple companies throughout his life. He will be missed!

Friends may gather to remember Sol's life Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL 60031 from 2:00-5:00PM.
