Ruth Vandervere

Ruth M. VanderVere, 85, of Waukegan passed away on Monday, December 7, 2009 at Terrace Nursing Home in Waukegan. She was born on September 16, 1924 in Pueblo, Colorado to William and Josephine (Vitula) Gibson. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Bonni (William) Atkins-Price of Beach Park and Marcine Riggsbee of Waukegan; five grandchildren, Christina Marie Cartwright, Cherri Lou Cartwright, Andreas Lawrence, Anthony (Marianne) Kotrotsios, Marco (Melissa) Trakos and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one half brother and two daughters, Toni Jo Chiaramonte and Franci Lou Riggsbee. Ruth was an avid book reader and a born-again Christian. She was a loving, supportive mother and grandmother, a very giving person and she loved her parakeets, especially Baby. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2009 from 10 am until 11 am at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum Chapel, 1495 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Inurnment will follow in Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace. Memorial donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Association or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee.
