Ronald "Ron" Ellis, 49, of Zion passed away suddenly at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born on February 23, 1961 in Jefferson County, Missouri.
He is survived by his loving family, children, Rhonda Ellis and Michael Ellis; father, Joseph E. Ellis, Sr; remembered fondly by his step-father, Howard Brown; mother of his children, Angelita Kevitt; brothers and sisters, Joseph (Diane) Ellis, Jr., Pamela Brown, Larry Brown and Justine Ellis; grandson Brandon Moore; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley May Brown, on July 31, 2009.
Ron found God and was baptized on Mother's Day in 2009. He was a friend to many, went out of his way to help others, was a proud dad and papa, a loving husband, son, brother and uncle. Ron previously worked at Plantation Bakery in Lake Bluff for 15 years and many years at Ivan Cartage in Wadsworth.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 3-5pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services will take place Wednesday at 5pm following the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be at 10am on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee.
