Ronald Albers Sr., 84, of Pleasant Prairie, WI passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 10, 1937 to Carlo Ferraro and Lorraine Andre in Chicago, IL, and on February 16, 2003 he married Rachel Hamel.
Ron was known throughout the Gurnee and Waukegan area as the owner of “Crazy Ron’s” Mobil Gas Station in Gurnee and his tire store in Waukegan. He was involved for many years with the Gurnee Exchange Club before moving to Wisconsin, where he enjoyed working in his garden and kept up his life-long passion of talking with people about politics.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel; children, Cynthia Hoskinson, Wendy (Patrick) Albers Scofield, and Lynn Albers; step-children, Danielle (Kevin) Robinson, and Douglas (Kimberly) Sires; along with 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren..
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Tom Albers; and children, Laurie Albers, and Ronald Albers Jr.
A memorial visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, IL 60031.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Ron’s name to a prostate cancer charity of your choice.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in accordance with current State of Illinois mandates, all guests will be required to wear a face mask while in the funeral home.
