Robert Vinnedge

Robert "Bob" A. Vinnedge, 75, of Grayslake, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at his home with his wife by his side. He was born on April 11, 1934 in Chicago. On November 11, 1988 in Las Vegas, Bob married Sylvia Gorman. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Sylvia Vinnedge, children, Patricia Tilton of Gurnee, IL, Diane Herrera of LaMesa, CA, David (Carrie) Vinnedge of Orlando, FL, step-children, Robert (Joy) Gorman of Edwardsburg, MI, William Gorman of Lake in the Hills, IL and Terry (Julie) Gorman of Wonder Lake, IL, brother, Ronald (Mary Batterton) Mixer of Apoka, FL, sister, Nancy Harvranek of Bloomington, IN, fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Charlotte (nee McDermott) Vinnedge and daughter, Linda Vinnedge. Bob was a Mason in Indiana for many years. He enjoyed playing BINGO, cribbage and loved traveling with his wife. Family and friends may gather on Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church, 285 Washington Street, Grayslake. A memorial service will follow at the church at 11:00 am with Chaplain Miriam Hackler officiating. Interment will be private at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church or the Diabetes Association or Parkinson's Research.
