Robert Daniel

Robert A. Daniel, 90, of Grayslake passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at his home. He was born January 1, 1924 in Chicago to Frank and Johanna (nee Fiedler) Daniel. On August 9, 1952 in Chicago, Robert married Harriet Mellin. He is survived by his loving daughter, Jacqueline (George) Petrovich; grandchildren, Jamie Meister and Robyn Meister, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 59 years Harriet Daniel, and sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Joseph Frank. Robert was a US Army Veteran during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. He worked for more than 40 years at O.A. Wendt in Chicago, and was a longtime member of the American Legion and VFW both in Chicago. Funeral services are Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL with Fr. Rich Yanos officiating from Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa. A private family internment will take place at a later date at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee.
