Richard Farner

Richard Kenneth Farner, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend died peacefully on October 26, 2014 at 6:05 am after a 20 year battle with a failing body. His indomitable heart carried him through each battle with an immeasurable grace that fortified those around him and reminded us to never take this life for granted. He was a lover of tinkering, the Chicago Bears, motorcycles, woodworking, and above all, his family. He always spoke truth, and ended his journey with dignity and great love. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Margaret "Peg" nee Woisard, and their children, Richard T. (Rhiannon) , Jason (Shannon) and Rachel Farner, and his adored granddaughter, Kaitlyn along with his four legged children, Nikita and Roxy. He is also survived by his mother, Carolyn Journell, his siblings, Crystal (Bob) Beeman, Tommy Farner, Melody (Allen) Helms, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard F. Farner, his step-father, Robert L. Journell and grandson, Matthew Farner.

Visitation is Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 4-8pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services are Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 10:30am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
