Raquel Figueroa

Raquel Figueroa, 75, of Waukegan, IL passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021, at The Grove of Elmhurst.

She was born on September 28, 1946 to Leopoldo and Emma (Garcia) Rodriguez in Laredo, Texas.

Raquel spent many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant and enjoyed helping with and caring for others. It was said she always gave 100% to her patients.  She loved playing Bingo until she was able to start playing the slot machines, then Bingo took a back seat.  She was one-of-a-kind, the person who always had a flip phone, staying with it even after she was offered a smart phone.

She is survived by her children, Roy (Ivone) Hogan, Kathy (Hector) Barriera, Brian (Nubia) Hogan, and Berto (Mindy) Figueroa; grandchildren, Nina, Joseph, Justin, Josh, Anthony, Marie, Michael, Nivia, Brian, Anissa, Tony, David, Mariah, Robert, and Gianni; great-grandchildren, Nikko, Mario, Anabaya, Millions, Aliyah, Heaven, and Melody; siblings, Ramiro (Frances) Rodriguez, Herminia (Oscar) Martinez, Lulie (Mauricio) Martinez, Gloria Garza, and Imelda (Jose) Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Figueroa; her parents; and two brothers, Edwardo “Lalo” Rodriguez, and Leopoldo “Arturo” Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held from 4 – 6 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL 60031.
