Phyllis L. Kincaid, age 60, of Gurnee, Illinois, took her place in heaven on Monday, June 29, 2015. She was born in Waukegan, Illinois to Raney D. and Ernestine Kincaid on February 17, 1955.
At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. A gifted scholar, she was called to the field of nursing and obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Nursing from DePaul University in Chicago and exemplified her love for humanity and dedication to serving others through her forty-year career in the healthcare profession. As a licensed Registered Nurse and ASQ (American Society for Quality) Certified Quality Auditor, she applied her immense talent and skills in a variety of professional settings, including as an educator instructing nursing students and clinical nursing staff, and in corporate executive management roles assessing and evaluating clinical programs globally, having visited more than sixty-three countries around the world interfacing with local and foreign regulatory authorities and performing assessments which directly impacted the safety of patients.
Her unwavering dedication and commitment to community service is also evident in the various leadership roles she held including serving as President of the Chi Eta Phi Sorority Nu Phi Chapter, Vice President of the Women's Association of the Lake Shore Baptist District Association and Sunday School Adult Teacher at Shiloh Baptist Church of Waukegan.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughter Tiffany (Victor) Miller of Naperville, Illinois; three siblings: Karle (Yvonne) Kincaid of Chicago, Illinois, Tracey (Walter) Barnett of Wadsworth, Illinois, and Raney Alan Kincaid of Puyallup, Washington; three nephews: Jourdan Barnett of Wadsworth, Illinois, Kolin Kincaid of Spanaway, Washington and Jayden Kincaid of Puyallup, Washington; two nieces: Yaniec Kincaid of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Jasmine Kincaid of Puyallup, Washington; and host of cousins, family and dear friends. Her parents answered the call to our Heavenly Father prior to her departure.
A service in celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, July 6, 2015 at Shiloh Baptist Church of Waukegan, 800 S. Genesee St., Waukegan, Illinois with Pastor Walstone E. Francis officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with entombment to follow at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University (please designate "In memoriam of Phyllis L.
