Phyllis Griffel

Phyllis M. Griffel, 84, of Richmond, IL passed away Nov. 29, 2016 at Burr Oak Manor in Genoa City, WI. She was born May 4, 1932 in Round Lake, IL to the late Irving and Ruth (Brehm) Sheldon. On July 13, 1951 in Waukegan, Phyllis married John H. Griffel. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, bake, and was an avid gardener. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John Griffel; children, John M. Griffel, Tom (Geneane) Griffel, Janet (Scott) Laine and Julie Small; grandchildren, Brian (Meghan) Laine, Josh Laine, Jake Laine, Laura Laine, Daniel Small, Tyler Small, Rachel Small, Jamie Griffel and Matt Griffel; great grandchildren, Randall and Hailey Laine. Services are private. Memorial donations may be made to any Breast Cancer organization of your choice. Services and interment are private, and will take place at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee.
