Patrick Hung

Patrick Hung, 84, of Gurnee passed away Sunday, November 27th, 2022 at Vista Medical Center.  He was born July 31st, 1938 in Taipei, Taiwan.  He married Linda Hung (nee Mercer) on August 6, 1977 in Glenview, IL.

He is survived by daughters, Kelly Hung and Holly Hung; grandson, Gabriel Farris; granddaughters Evelyn and Juniper Peczalski;  brother, Glen (MeiChang) Hung and sister Lena (Sung-Feng) Wen; nieces and nephews, June Albright, Caroline Wen, Emily Hung, Claudia Burrell, Clark Hung, Pauline Sundquist, and Eileen Lambo.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Hung, father, Yau-Hsun Hung, mother, Shiu-Chin Hung (nee Wu), and brothers Por Wen Hung and Por-Jen Hung.

Patrick loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.  Family vacations to Las Vegas and Florida held many cherished memories.  He enjoyed singing songs by Elvis, horse racing, watching Taiwanese movies and TV.  He opened his doors to all in need and had an incredibly large heart.  Patrick was a huge Bulls fan and never missed a chance to watch his favorite team.  He was an avid collector of baseball caps and jewelry.  His quirky and generous personality will be missed dearly!

In lieu of flowers the family is collecting funds for Patrick's live-in caretaker, Donna Ridolfi, who lovingly provided around-the-clock care for Patrick for the last four years.  All funds will be used to help Donna transition to her new home.

Visitation and Memorial will be held from 10:00 a.m. until Noon (12:00 p.m.) on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Warren Funeral Home 1475 N. Cemetery Rd. (located on the northside of the intersection of Tri-State Parkway and Cemetery Rd.) in Gurnee, Illinois 60031.
