Patricia Ruth (Busch) Girardi, age 86, of Wadsworth IL, passed away peacefully Friday, June 13, 2014 to be with her husband whom she loved and missed dearly.
Pat, "Patsy", was born June 18, 1927 to Ruth (Lawson) and Joseph Busch. She was raised as an only child in Waukegan attending Holy Child High School and graduating from Waukegan High School. Her father was the original owner of Louis Restaurant in Waukegan which was known as Joe's and then had an attached candy store on the North and a soda fountain on the corner. Her mother was an Illinois "pioneer" who was born and raised in a log cabin on Grand Avenue at what is now the site of the North Shore Gas Company. Her husband Albert was a WWII army veteran and survivor of D-Day and the European campaign. She and her family were long time, dedicated members of St. Anastasia Church and parish.
Pat walked to work at the old Sears Roebuck and Company and the Illinois Bell Telephone Company in Waukegan. She retired after 30 years as purchasing agent for the Johns-Manville Corp. in Waukegan. She was hardworking and strong sharing the family home with her mother for over 30 years, working full time and focusing on her family.
She was the strength and the hub for her four children, Kathleen (Ron) Kuziel of Lamont, IL, Tom (Diane) Girardi of Lindenhurst, IL, John Girardi of Wadsworth, IL and Susan (Dave) Early of Sheboygan, WI. Even as her family grew to include 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren she remained an influential part of each of their lives.
Her passing will be deeply felt by those she touched but lifted in knowing that she is happy and at peace with God and her husband. Thank you mom, gramma and great gramma for our wonderful lives.
