Odean Garner

Odean Garner Sr. was born August 15, 1937 to James Garner and Rebecca Lloyd. Odean Garner Sr. Retired from Waukegan School District 60. He died on Wednesday May, 4, 2022 at the age of 84, while in the comfort of his home.

Odean Garner Sr. is survived by his wife of 39 years Sherry Garner; his sisters Dorthy Lloyd, LeDonia Lloyd-Fenney, brothers Bruce Johnson and David Lloyd all of Tennessee; his children Karen Ollie-Garner of Minnesota, Odean Garner Jr. of Minnesota, Frankie (Terrance) Brown of Illinois, Nanette Watkins of Mississippi, Mary Garner of Minnesota, Chris (Shayla) Howze of Illinois and Treymaine (Linsey Stewart) Garner of Minnesota and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and a special great granddaughter Imani Harris. Also, a host of cousins in Kankakee,IL, nieces and nephews from all over the globe.

He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed playing and teaching chess and pool. Odean Garner Sr. said what he meant and meant what he said. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Odean Garner Sr. Is preceded in death by his parents; sister Betty Bankhead; son Marion Garner Sr. and daughter LaTonya Howze.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m., followed by Entombment in the Chapel of Peace at Warren Cemetery. Warren Funeral Home and Cemetery is located at 1475 N. Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, IL.
