Mitchell B. Davis, Jr., 65, of Lake Villa passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on November 20, 1944 in Flint, Michigan. On July 10, 1966 in Wilmot, Wisconsin, Mitchell married Joan C. Janus.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Joan C. Davis; son, Mitchell B. (Rita) Davis, III of Wonder Lake, IL; grandchildren, Jennifer Davis and Robert Davis; sisters, Inger Rhea, Susan Coovert both of Mississippi, Mary Beth (Bill) Carlson, Melissa Morris both of San Francisco, CA; brother, Gustav Davis of Washington and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell B. and Betty Ann (Stukenbroeker) Davis, Sr. and brother Thomas Davis.
Mitchell served in the United States Navy on the USS Point Defiance during the Vietnam War. He was an avid golfer, loved hunting, classic cars, general maintenance and tinkering with electronic and anything mechanical. He retired from Abbott Labs after 25 years of service.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 4-8 pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 11 am with one hour of visitation prior to services. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee.
