Michael was preceded in death by his mother Charlene Mae Moberg, his sister and brother, Ann Moberg, and Carl Moberg. Also joining him at his homecoming were his grandparents Charles and Helen Oechsle, and Isadore and Bertha Moberg as well as his three cousins Vikki, Bill, and Terri. Michael was survived by his father Ralph Moberg, his son Mike Moberg Jr. his daughter Jillian Duco, his grandchildren Cayla Parks-Knight, Michael Moberg 3rd, and Reisa Moberg, his precious three great-granddaughters Peyton, Madison, and Nova, his sister Susan (Clark) Berg, Sandra (Randy) Marschall, and Sharon Bryzek.
Also mourning his passing are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Michael was born in Waukegan, Illinois. He spent his youth growing up as a boy scout going hunting, camping, and fishing in the Chain O'Lakes area of Fox Lake Hills, Lake Villa, Illinois. When Michael became a teen, he was proud to be known as a Fox Lake Hills boy. He enjoyed motorcycling, boating, and fishing, among many other things. Most of all Michael loved fishing. He spent many years fishing on the Chain O'Lakes in any fishing hole he could find. As years passed, he was no longer called a Fox Lake Hills boy, he became known as fishing Papa. Michael loved to spend time fishing with his grands.
For many years Michael was a heavy equipment operator, experienced in various types of heavy equipment machinery. He retired from the Union as a loyal member of Local 150 of the operating engineers. He had a genuine love of his experience building roads, bridges, and laying miles of water/sewer pipes in and around the Chicago area. So, as we all know Mike was experienced in dealing with a lot of crap!
He retired in Nokomis, Florida spending his final years with family and friends, fishing and relaxing at the North Jetty. He will be deeply missed by all!
