Matthew Townsend

Matthew Allen Townsend, 24, of Zion, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 4, 2014 in Winthrop Harbor. He was born on September 23, 1989 in Waukegan. He is survived by his father, Randy Mom(Darla) Townsend; mother, Barbara (Rick) Gault; paternal grandmother, Eileen Townsend; maternal grandparents, JoAnn Booth and Ronald Earl; aunt, Sandy Jackson; aunt Cindy Sigurdsson Sara Sigurdsson, Robyn Sigurdsson, Sean Sigurdsson brothers and sisters, Steven Taylor, Patricia Townsend, Dustin (Brittany) Townsend, Keith (Sarah) Townsend, Heather Townsend and Laura Townsend; nieces and nephews, Emily, Tony, Taylor, Charley, Melrose, AceLynn , Mckenna and girlfriend, Kaileigh Ballard. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Wilbur Townsend; step-maternal grandparents, Ralph and Dorothy Miller ,uncle Mike Sigurdsson, uncle, Darren and aunts, Daneen Miller and Brenda Miller. Matthew loved sports, especially football. He enjoyed going to the beach, being outdoors and being "in the scene." Visitation is Friday, May 9, 2014 from 5-7 pm at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services are Friday at 7 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Stephens from Gurnee Community Church. Interment is private.
