Mary Jo Jackson, 67, of Gurnee, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born on June 23, 1941 in Waukegan to Stanley and Mary (Luzer) Miks. On January 24, 1976 in Waukegan, Mary married Larry F. Jackson. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Larry; son, Brian Jackson of Gurnee, daughter, Kim Melock of Fernadino Beach, FL, adopted son, Kevin Wood and adopted daughter, Amber Wood both of Gurnee; brothers, Stanley (Ann) Miks of CA, Danny (Nancy) Miks of Park City, Paul Miks and Peter (Jodi) Miks both of Waukegan; sisters, Cea Miks of Winthrop Harbor, Rita Jarrett of GA and Louise Turner of IN; grandchildren, Amber, Kevin, Bradley and Ciarra. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Kelley Jackson. Mary Jo loved word puzzles, jig-saw puzzles and she played Dominos every Sunday with her family. She was the original die-hard Cubs fan and the greatest humanitarian you could ever meet. Family and friends may meet on Monday, June 15, 2009 from 4-8 pm at Warren Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Darling from Gages Lake Bible Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee.
