Mary-Francine Germaine Cashmore (nee Monroe) passed away on August 10, 2010 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 9, 1946 in France. She traveled to the US on a Red Cross boat when she was 5 weeks old and became a citizen in 1955. In 1963 she married Richard Cashmore ; they were married for 33 years until his passing in 1996.
Survived by her children Fred of Lake Villa, Charlotte Ferreri of Del Norte, CO, Jacqueline of Round Lake Beach and Jimmy (Lisa) of Zion. Left to cherish her memory is the granddaughter she raised with Richard; Jocelyne-Wanda (Adam Johnson). Nanny will also be missed by Jacqueline, Ashley, Khrystyne, Brian, Brandon, Lawrence, Zackery and Joseph. Also survived by her mother, Marcelle Sneesby, brother, Sam Monroe (Noreen), her many Cashmore in-laws as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary and Richard owned and operated Cashmore Construction. She also spent many years working in the health care field, most recently for Illinois Bone and Joint. Mary enjoyed motorcycle trips with her loving companion, John Turner. She was an avid crafter, doll collector and devoted cat mom.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, father, Samuel "Hank" Monroe, stepfather, Arden Sneesby, grandparents, Louis Faverdin, Germaine Faverdin LaPipe, Sam and Rowena Monroe.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 from 4-8pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 12pm with one hour of visitation prior to services. Deacon Robert Ochsner will officiate. Burial will follow at Millburn Cemetery.
Donations to Lake Forest Hospital Hospice are suggested by the family.
