Marilyn Kay Stolarik, 71, of Island Lake, formerly of Antioch and Libertyville, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving children on Monday, October 5, 2015. With a passion for life Marilyn loved to cook, was a voracious novel reader, a graceful dancer, and was the constant gardener. She had an affinity for adopting dying plants and the skills to nurture them back to life. While she enjoyed the outdoors, she especially loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Marilyn retired from Biglow & Co Inc./Grove Insurance Agency in Fox Lake, IL., after working there for over 20 years. Born December 11, 1943 in Harrisburg, IL, she is survived by her former husband and friend, Dennis Stolarik and his wife, Kaye Stolarik; mother, Lola Ahlberg; 4 children, Shane (Sandra Yates) Stolarik, Todd (Christina McGee) Stolarik, Susan (Kristopher) Glave and Kathleen (Jeffrey) McIntosh; 7 grandchildren, Benjamin (Cindle) Stolarik, Kellen McIntosh, Kaelyn McIntosh, Ian McIntosh, Jace Glave, Vivianne Glave, Royce Crown, and 1 great grandchild, Axton Stolarik. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ahti Ahlberg, and C. Ernestine and Benjamin Schweider. Visitation is Friday, October 9, 2015 from 5-9 pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services are Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and Journeycare, Inc., 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010.
