Margarita (Farias) Vazquez, age 96, of Kenosha, WI, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 in her home.

She was born on November 29, 1923 to the late Inocencio Farias and Martina (Gonzalez) Farias in Houston, Texas.

Quality of life was key for Margarita. She loved living in her own apartment and cooking her own meals. She loved her family's and friends daily visits and phone calls.  She loved playing BINGO, Po-Ke-No and slot machines. She loved to travel to visit family, vacation in Hawaii and Las Vegas. She loved to go to concerts, festivals and farmers markets. Her favorite musician was Ramon Ayala. She loved to sit and knit while watching La India Maria and Cantiflas movies. She loved to shop for gifts for her family and friends. She was a funny, spunky, loving Mother, Mother-in-Law, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and friend.

In her early years, she worked on farms with her family from Texas to Wisconsin, on production lines at Abbott Laboratory in Illinois, as a cook for United States Navy at Great Lakes Naval Training Base and as a caregiver for several families in Florida, Texas and California.

Margarita is survived by her children Maria (James) Varnadore, Roman Vazquez, daughter-in-law Jeannette Vazquez, Julia Martinez (Edmund) Bieschke, Eva (Kevin) Urbanik, Ricardo Vazquez, Felix (Mistyann) Vazquez, sister Amanda Luna, many nieces and nephews, 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Pedro Vazquez, father Inocencio, mother Martina, siblings Mary, Olivia, Manuela, Sara, Frank and Valentine "Rocky".

Due to Covid 19 a memorial service will be held as soon as it is safe to do so. Please delay cards and flowers until memorial service.

Inurnment will be at Warren Cemetery.

Warren Funeral Home is assisting the family.
