Margaret L. Stripe, 96, of Lake Forest passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Highland Park Hospital. She was born September 20, 1915 in Winona , Minnesota. In September 1940, Margaret married Frederic F. Stripe.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Frederic; two sons, Fred Stripe and Bill (Helen) Stripe; one granddaughter, Amy (Tom) O'Regan; two great grandchildren, Quinlan and Maeve O'Regan and special friend and caregiver, Beth Dinan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Florence (Smith) Matson and one brother, Edward Matson.
Margaret enjoyed her years with the Presbyterian Ladies Book Club of Lake Forest. She loved spending time with her family, and thought of her granddaughter as her own daughter.
A graveside service is Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:00am at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Burial at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
