Margaret D. Miller, 87, of Gurnee passed away peacefully July 25, 2016 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
She was born November 5, 1928 in Friendship, WI. On November 13, 1948 in Arkdale, WI, Margaret married the love of her life, Bernard N. Miller. Margaret was raised in Friendship, and moved to Illinois after their marriage, and then became a of resident of Gurnee for the past 64 years.
She was a longtime member of Gurnee Community Church for 62 years where she was active in the Elderberries Group. She was also a member of the Warren Township Historical Society, the American Legion Post 771 Women's Auxillary, and the local Quilters Club. Margaret loved visiting with friends, neighbors, traveling internationally and domestically, quilting, gardening, puzzles, genealogy, going to thrift stores, garage sales, and was an avid volunteer for Meals On Wheels, Cancer Society, Heart Association, Easter Seals, Election Judge, and many other organizations.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, devoted husband of 67 years, Bernard Miller; three children, Gary (Jan) Miller, Terry (Debby) Miller and Connie (Daniel) Klugiewicz; ten grandchildren, Jeremy (Hilliary) Miller, Breah Miller, Beth (Derek) Lang, Brooke (Steve) Turk, Tamara (Ron, Jr.) Dickerhoff, Tristan Miller, Brianne Klugiewicz, Peter (Kelsey) Klugiewicz, Samantha Klugiewicz and Alexander Klugiewicz; six great grandchildren, Skylar Perry, Blake Perry, Preston Knapp, Harrison Lang, Harper Turk and Nadia Klugiewicz; sister-in-law, Grace Anderson; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Emmett and Clara Louise (Sorenson) Anderson; beloved daughter, Cheri Lynn Miller; two brothers, Bob and Bill Anderson; three sisters and their husbands, Clara Mae (Ralph) Olson, Elsie (Fred) Moshure and Pat (Harold) Fallos; sister-in-law, Marge Anderson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Merle and Clara Miller.
Visitation is Friday, July 29, 2016 from 9am-11am at Gurnee Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee. Funeral services will follow after the visitation at church at 11am with Pastor Chris Stephens officiating.
Entombment will take place at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gurnee Community Church Senior Ministries or the Food Pantry.
