Lilly Marie Olsen Klep, 93, formerly of Antioch, passed away on October 24, 2016 and found peace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Klep, to whom she was married and devoted for 62 years; brother, Hert Olsen, nephew, Andrew Kirchmeier. She is survived by nine nieces, two nephews, one sister-in-law, and one cousin. She was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Danish immigrant parents, and was very proud of her Danish heritage. She grew up in Chicago, loved the city and the lake. She graduated from Kelvyn Park High School, and took classes at DePaul University. She was a bank clerk for a time, loved numbers and book keeping. During her married life she was a homemaker, living in several different states as well as Canada. She loved to travel, and took a trip to Denmark and Norway to visit relatives, which was the highlight of her travels. She especially loved to drive. She was known for wearing her variety of hats whenever she went out. Lilly was an excellent seamstress, and did precise needlepoint and embroidery. She loved to read, especially a good mystery. She had a beautiful soprano voice, and took part in choral performances with her shy tenor husband whom she met in the church choir, saying "He's the one for me" on their first meeting. Her twinkling blue eyes and talkative nature made them the perfect pair. Lilly was a devout Lutheran who loved her church very much. She and her husband settled in retirement in Antioch, Illinois, and lived there for almost 30 years. Her last years were spent in Lindenhurst, Illinois and in Rockford, Illinois. Special thanks for Lilly's care goes to the staff at the Villages of Victory Lakes Assisted Living and Memory Care, Journeycare Hospice, and to her good friend, Judy Wright. Visitation will be held Monday, November 7, 2016 from 12:30-1:30pm at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL. A memorial service will take place at 1:30 pm on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Scharrer officiating from Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
