Leroy Wininger

Leroy Wininger, 82, of Waukegan passed away on Sept 20, 2010, at the Pavilion of Waukegan. He was born Feb 21, 1928 in Loogootee, Indiana, the son of Henry Harrison Wininger and Eva Jane, nee Phillips. He married Shirley Lorena Fulcher in 1953 on the 4th of July in Odon, Indiana.

An army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, he is a member of the American Legion and of the Foresters Club.

Leroy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley; father of Debra Rene Cartwright of Zion, Kent Leroy Wininger and Terry Steven Wininger, both of Waukegan; grandfather of Kenneth Roger (Mary) Isles Jr. of Beach Park, Brian Steven Wininger of Indianapolis, IN, Evan Michael Cartwright of Waukegan and Ashley Ann Range of Gurnee; great grandfather of Roger Jonathon Iles and Rosemary Lorraine Iles, both of Beach Park; brother of Katherine Marie Hogan of Zion, and Elizabeth Nikam of Washington, IN.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 23, 2010, from 4:00-8:00 pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, where services will be held Friday at 11:00am with the Rev. Roland Weis officiating. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum.
