Lanch L. Barton, Jr., 86, of Waukegan passed away on Monday, September 14, 2009 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. He was born on January 3, 1923 in Harvard, IL to Lanch, Sr. and Hilda Barton. He was united in matrimony on October 28, 1941 in Waukegan to Shirley Hanson. He is survived by his loving daughters, Diane (Eldridge "Cowboy") Brown of Kenosha and Rebecca (Zenon) Blas of Ingleside; grandchildren, Phillip, Sarah, Mark, Timothy and Scott; great grandchildren, Ariel, Chasity and Brennan; brother, Wade (Anna) Barton of Zion and sister, Blanche Edgar of Zion. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife of 61 years, Shirley Barton who died in 2003 and brothers and sisters. Lanch was a United States Navy WWII veteran. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenter's and Joiners of American Local #0250 for many years and attended Indian Hill Bible Church in Ingleside. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling three days a week at Bertrand Bowling Lanes in Waukegan. Family and friends may meet on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 from 4-8 pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Sidney Miller officiating from Indian Hill Bible Church. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee. Donations may be made to Indian Hill Bible Church in Ingleside.
