Kathryn Mae Bisland-Cowfer, 93, died peacefully at home in Waukegan. She was born on May 9, 1916 in Zenda, WI to Wray and Frankie Belle (nee Gray) Householder. She was married first to the father of her children, James Bisland, who died in 1969 and she later married Walter Cowfer who died in 2005. She is survived by her loving children, Ruth (Dennis) Wendricks of Wadsworth, Robert (Betsy) Bisland of Gurnee and Kathie (James) Casey of Zion; grandchildren, Ronald (Susan), Kelly (Edie), Patrick, Caryn (Bob), Jeffrey, Liane, Teresa (Brian), Janice (Donald), Michael (Julie), Carol (Rowan), Linda (Randall), Stacey, Mandy (Dorian); sister, June Knapp of Iron River, MI; many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Henryka Siwiak, Gedda Bonjoc and Jamane Ocampo. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Nancy Ekquist who died in 2001, twin brother, Kenneth Householder, brother, Clyde Householder and sisters, Hazel Ladewig, Mildred Borg and Blanche Allen. Kathryn was a member of the Moose Lodge in Waukegan for many years. She loved playing BINGO at the VFW in Gurnee and enjoyed bowling at Sunset Bowl in Waukegan. She will always be remembered as the "Yahtzee Grandma." Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services will take place at 12:00 noon on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee.
