Karl Johanesen Sr

Karl "The Fonz" B. Johanesen, Sr., 73, of Lake Villa passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born on September 29, 1942 in Chicago to the late Nils and Ethel (Spencer) Johanesen. He is survived by his three loving children, Teri (Craig) Tisdale, Karl, Jr. (Sherry) Johanesen and Deserae (Shawn) Erickson; six grandchildren, Aaron Donovan, Lindsey Donovan, Elizabeth Donovan, Alicia Johanesen, Kaylee Halmstad and Sydney Erickson; one great granddaughter, Rory Elizabeth Rothenberg and many cousins. Karl was a US Air Force Veteran. He worked and retired as a letter carrier for the Deerfield Post Office after 36 years of service. "The Fonz" loved riding his motorcycle. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Lake Villa VFW Post #4308. Visitation is Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 10am-12pm at Warren Funeral Home, Gurnee. Entombment will follow the visitation at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee.
