JW Hobbs

JW Hobbs, age 77, went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 11, 2024. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Hobbs (Blue), of 52 wonderful years. Loving father of Edgar A. (Theresa) Hobbs, Vickie D. Henry, Calandra D. Williams, and LuDoña R. (Ardray Jr.) Jarrett. Proud grandfather of Simone Hobbs, Albert “A.J.” Hunt, Alexis Hunt, Josie Hobbs, Taylor Loggins, Catelyn Williams, Jurnee Jarrett, Jayla Jarrett, and Carla Allen and great-grandfather of Chase Taylor and Karter Meekins. Cherished brother of Jessie Lee (the late Fred) Wilson and brother-in-law of Agnes Blue, Grace Castro, Bertha Smith, and Bennis Blue. He joins in Heaven his parents Clara and Dannie Hobbs Sr.; his siblings CW Hobbs, Ruth Hargrove, Lula McDuffie, Rose Hemingway, Eddie B. Hobbs, Dannie Hobbs Jr., Queenie Moore, Mary Webbs, and Frances Hayes; and his siblings-in-law James Blue, Marshall Blue, Eddie Blue, Mary Turpin, Betty Myers Michaels, Addie Smith, Thomas Blue, and Joseph Blue. He is a cherished uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

              Friends and family will meet for visitation on Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 11AM-12PM at Shalem Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1105 Pine Street, Waukegan, IL, with a Celebration of his Life to begin at 12PM. The Celebration of Life may be viewed at Shalem SDA Youtube channel. Interment will take place privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in JW’s memory to Shalem Seventh Day Adventist Church would be greatly appreciated.
