Judith Ann Imler (Rizzo), a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed peacefully on October 2, 2024, in Libertyville, IL, at the age of 81. Born on December 3, 1942, in Erie, PA, Judy lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Born on December 3, 1942, in Erie, PA, Judy was welcomed into the world by her loving parents, Samuel L. and Mary Wilda (Mang) Rizzo. She grew up in Erie, where Judy's sense of humor was one of her most endearing traits, bringing laughter to those around her and leaving an everlasting impact on those who had the pleasure of meeting her. In 1960, Judy graduated from St. Benedict Academy in Erie. She lived the majority of her life in Erie working in healthcare administration, retiring as a telephone operator. Judy moved to Illinois in 2023 to be closer to her family.

Judy’s legacy is carried forward by her devoted son David Imler and his wife Connie, and her daughter Susan Thoren and her husband Brian. She was the proud grandmother of Andrew Imler (Nicole Woodbury, fiancé) and Haley Imler (Kurtis Vepley), and she took great delight in her great-granddaughter, Rowen Vepley. Her sister, Mary Morse (Richard), also survives her, along with her nieces Michele, Julie (Daniel) and Jennifer and her nephews Jeffery (Lisa) and Mark (Roberta), along with their children and grandchildren. Judy will be missed by her remaining family and friends.

Judy shared a special bond with her sister, Mary, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories, from childhood antics to adult confidences. Their relationship was a testament to the enduring power of sisterly love.

Judy had a love for baseball as an ardent fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago White Sox. Judy shared enthusiasm for the game with her sister Mary. Her flowering garden was her sanctuary, where she lovingly tended to her roses, finding peace and beauty in nature.

Judy was a devout member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, located at 1531 E. Grandview Blvd. in Erie, PA. Judy was proud of her Italian heritage and always knew the best Italian restaurant and bakery.

Judy received compassionate care from Integrated Palliative and Hospice, to whom the family extends their heartfelt gratitude. Their support made a profound difference in Judy's final days, providing comfort and peace to her and her loved ones, allowing her to transition with dignity and grace.

A private family service will be held to celebrate Judy’s life, where stories will be shared, and laughter will be plentiful.
