Joyce Mccormick

Joyce Elaine McCormick, 51, of Gurnee passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at her home with her husband by her side, following a six year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on March 14, 1958 in Waukegan. On July 13, 1986 in Waukegan, Joyce married Ronald A. McCormick. She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Ronald McCormick; father, James Painter, Sr. of Gurnee; son, Scott (Stacey) McCormick of Denver, CO; daughter, Molly McCormick of Gurnee; brother, James (Ruth) Painter, Jr. of Key West, FL; sister Jane (Tim) Tiernan of Beach Park, IL; grandchildren, Christian McCormick and John Keller and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, June Painter. Joyce was a volunteer for Relay for Life in Waukegan for the past six years and the past coordinator of the York House Youth Group at York House United Methodist Church in Beach Park. She also enjoyed camping with her family. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 7 pm with visitation beginning at 6 pm at Wesley Free Methodist Church, 3601 N. Lewis Ave., Waukegan. Donations mey be made to the Relay for Life of Greater Waukegan or the Dustan family, whose sons Ian and Evan have fallen victim to catastrophic illness.
