Joshua Church

Joshua Eklund Church, 17, of Wadsworth, passed away Nov. 16, 2016 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born Nov. 11, 1999 in Lake Forest, IL. Josh was a Christian and very active in the youth group at Village Church in Gurnee and Bethany Beach in Sawyer, MI. He was on the Varsity Swim Team at Warren Township High School where he was a Junior and a straight "A" Honor Student, CATS Aquatics in Vernon Hills, and was a Junior National Swimmer. Josh loved hanging out with this family, and his favorite place to be was at Bethany Beach during the summertime. He is survived by his loving and devoted parents, Thomas and Alane (Eklund) Church; an amazing brother and friend to his sister, Alyssa Church and his brother, Chad Church; beloved grandson to paternal grandfather, Donald Church; maternal grandmother, Eleanor Eklund; many aunts, uncles, cousins and tons of friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ann Church and maternal grandfather, Wayne Eklund. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 from 3-9pm at Village Church, 1319 Hunt Club Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016 at 11am at the church.
