Josephine Behrens

Josephine "Jo" Behrens, 82, of Palatine, formerly of Gurnee, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014 at home. She was born on December 30, 1931 in Astoria, New York.
She is survived by her; children, Stephen (Maryse) Heim of California, Linda (Gary) Pavlik of Inverness, IL and Michael (Debbie) Heim of Aurora, IL; step-children, Laura (Wayne) Nemetz of Montgomery, IL and Kent (Tracy Bohrofen) Behrens of Omaha, Nebraska; sister, Dorothy Colao; brother, Ralph (Elizabeth) Trentadue; grandchildren, Jennifer Pavlik, Stephen Pavlik, Meagan (Jonathan) Sfrengeu and Courtney Heim; step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Steven) Clymer and Jeffery (Kristina) Nemetz; step great-grandchildren, Ryan Benson, Noah Benson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Lucille (Manfredonia) Trentadue; brother-in-law, Anthony Colao; her first husband, father of her children, John Heim and her second husband, George C. Behrens.
Jo retired from Baxter International (V. Mueller Division) after 22 years of service. In her retirement, she worked at Gurnee Mills Tourism Department greeting the Tour Buses. She was a member of the Gurnee Women's Club, Friends at Gurnee Senior Center, and Friends at "To Be Joyful Again" at Holy Family Church in Inverness. Jo enjoyed cooking, hostessing, gardening, crafts, and spending enjoyable times in Naples, Florida.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Warren Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, at 11:00am at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee.
