John David Parker, Jr., 72, of Zion, Illinois, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, June 30, 2012. He was born on November 24, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama to John and Marie (Brothers) Parker. John married Mary Moore on January 10, 1975, in Waukegan, Illinois. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 37 years, Mary Parker; his children, Cassaundra Holland, Lolita Logan and her husband Greg, Lawrence Parker and his wife Dede, John Parker and his wife Jillian, Rochette Wurth and her husband Shad Altman, and Nicole Parker; eleven grandchildren, Larry Parker, Marcus Parker, Britini Parker, Javonna Parker, John Parker, Jr., Corey Parker, Ashiya Parker, Desmond Parker, Prentice Parker, Tyler Wurth and Magan Wurth; one great-granddaughter, MacKenzi White; one brother, Tyrone Parker; three sisters, Sandra Prosser, Diane Washington, Gayle Parker and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Larry Parker and Norman Parker.
John was a United States Navy Veteran. He retired from ComEd after 21 years of service. He loved to play the guitar, video games, and pool. He also enjoyed bowling and martial arts. Visitation will be Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 10am-12noon at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, Illinois. Entombment will follow after the visitation at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee, Illinois.
