John Hutten, 84, of Grayslake, passed away suddenly Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born December 4, 1930 in Sterling, IL to Floyd and Helen (Fleming) Hutten. On June 8, 1963 in DeKalb, IL John married the love of his life, Elaine Turner. John was a Korean War Veteran who served in Germany. He was the Assistant Principal and Business Teacher at Lake Zurich High School for many years and enjoyed traveling. John was a member of Santa Maria del Popolo Catholic Church in Mundelein for 30 years, member of St. Gilberts Catholic Church in Grayslake for the past 20 years, member of the Barrington Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion both in Mundelein. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Elaine Hutten; children, Ann (Michael) Grossman, Daniel (Darcy) Hutten and Susan (Gilbert) O'Donoghue; grandchildren, Matthew Hutten, Nickolas Hutten, Sarah O'Donoghue, Mariah O'Donoghue and Hannah O'Donoghue; brother, James (Helen) Hutten; sisters-in-law, Angela Hutten and Sharon (Sigurd) Lund; nieces and nephews, M. Caroline (Bill) Berry, Edward Hutten, Rose Hutten-Reeves, Mark (Joanne) Hutten, David (Carley) Hutten, Thomas (Rebecca) Hutten, Tina Selkirk, Cyndie Lund, Serena Lund and Lynise (Timothy) Beard. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, F. Joseph Hutten and brother-in-law, Glenn Turner. Visitation is Monday, September 21, 2015 from 4-8pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Mass will be on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 10am at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake with one hour of visiting prior to service at the church. Private interment at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee. Memorial donations may be made to St. Gilbert Catholic Church.
