Jesse M. Cobb, 77, of Gurnee passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at home. He was born on February 27, 1937 in Ohio. On December 15, 1957 in Akron, Ohio, Jesse married Kathleen P. Carey. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kathleen P. Cobb; mother, Bessie Cobb of Florida; children, Robin (Don) Williams of Oxford, WI, Bonnie (Gary) Semling of Minnesota, Tammie (Terry Davis) Baldwin of Gurnee, Jesse W. (Diane) Cobb of Chicago, Mark (Angie) Cobb of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Crystal (Don) Alix of Arizona and Steven Cobb of New York; grandchildren, Katie Engelbrecht, Timothy, Amanda and Jessica Fuller, Jonah, Noah, Elijah, Micah and Mercy Grace Williams, Michael and Chandler Krubsack, Dan Baldwin, Jesse and Louis Cobb, Stephanie, Brooke and Matthew Cobb, Madison, Ashley and Anthony Alix; great grandchildren, Terrence, Payton, Alexzander, Sophya, Julian, Adisyn, Emily, Karlee and ; sister, Hazilee; step-brother, Jim Lapert and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse R. Cobb; daughter, Julia Ann Fuller and sister, Winola. Jesse was a United States Marine, a very active and longtime member of Gurnee Community Church, a Chicago Chef for over 50 years, a member of the American Academy of Chefs, Past President of the Chicago Chefs of Cuisine and the Association of Illinois. He was a winner of many gold medals in the United States Culinary competition, a member of the les Amis d Escoffier Society and Food Service Executives. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 from 2-5pm at Gurnee Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee. A memorial service will follow at 5pm at the church with Pastor Chris Stephens officiating. Inurnment will be private.
