Jennifer Tanner

April 13, 1984 — September 11, 2015

Jennifer Sue Tanner, 31, of Round Lake, IL formerly of Gurnee, IL courageously joined heaven to be our Guardian Angel on September 11, 2015, with her mother, father, and brother by her side, she suffered no pain and was completely at peace. Her angelic face beamed with happiness as though to thank us for giving her a wonderful life at home, and never knowing what is was like to feel stress, hate, or prejudice. Born April 13, 1984 in Waukegan, IL to Tim and Ruth (Hofmeister) Tanner, Jennifer suffered from a rare genetic disease appropriately named Angelman Syndrome. Jen attended Laremont School until her graduation in 2005 at the age of 21. Jennifer loved everyone and everyone she met loved her, but she did have her favorites. It was easy to know who they were as soon as she heard their voice and that big smile appeared on her face. She loved to wrestle with her brother and dad, and it wasn't uncommon for her to grab house guests in a relentless headlock. Although Jen did not travel much she knew all the fun things to see and do in the Lake County area. Trips with the family to the lakefront, mall, and all the local parks were among her favorites. Survivors include her parents, brother, Scott (Jamie), a niece, Kami Sue, uncles, Mark (Linda) Tanner, Pat (Joni) Tanner, Al Dunski, numerous cousins, and two very special caregivers, Danielle Roberts and Kristin Heuer who became part of our family. Jenny was preceded in death by her grandparents, Betty and Harold "Coffee" Hofmeister, and Neal and Ruthanne Tanner. A casual visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 10:00 am until noon at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL. Funeral services will take place at noon after the visitation at the funeral home with Rev. Lisle J. Kauffman officiating. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Fox Lake Fire Department Memorial Fund, 306 Washington St., Fox Lake, IL 60020.
