James Nelson

James Harold Nelson, 62, of Waukegan, passed away Friday, March 12, 2015 at his home. He was born July 30, 1952 in Chicago. He is survived by his loving daughter, Gwendolyn (Kevin Kabela) Nelson; grandson, James Patrick Nelson "Jack" Kabela; brother, Jeffrey (Kathleen) Nelson; sister, Linda Philipp; niece, Lynn Ann (Jeffrey) Thompson; nephews, Jason Nelson, Kevin (Megan) Nelson, Allen Philipp, Alex Philipp, and five great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Norma (Dubois) Nelson; grandson Kyle John Kabela; two brothers, Gerald Nelson and John Nelson, and brother-in-law, Grant P. Philipp. James was a loving father and adoring grandfather. He was a dedicated civil service servant for more than 40 years at the VA Hospital in North Chicago, and was an avid Bears, Wolves and Cubs fan. A memorial gathering will take place on Friday, March 20, 2015, from 10:00am-12:00pm at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
